Our 1 hour train ride to Vienna flew by and we dropped off our luggage at our apartment and headed right out. The first order of business was lunch. We ate at a great place close to our apartment. Really tasty!
There are wonderful museums here and the kids always love natural history museums, so we decided to head there. We spent the entire afternoon there. The building itself was completely magnificent, both inside and out. I couldn't get over it! The exhibits were pretty great, too.
I took this picture, not because of the enormous amethyst, but because of the incredible door frame and door itself. Each hall had several doors like this. It was incredible. And their were paintings above each door!
We came back to our apartment for a bit of downtime before heading out for dinner. We made our way toward the hotel where our family would be staying. It turned out to be the very same area where our apartment was when we were here in January! We felt like we were in our old stomping grounds and ended up at an Indian restaurant we had eaten at before. It was even better this time around!
And finally, the moment we'd been waiting for....getting to see our family!
We met them in their hotel rooms and had such fun catching up with them after their very long day of travel. They were exhausted and so were we, so our reunion was brief. We can't wait to meet up with them again soon!
